Quick response (3): one line at work, in keigo

Office lines are set phrases: how to answer 「お先さきに失礼しつれいします」, who acts in 「〜させていただけますか」, what follows 「恐おそれ入いりますが」. Mind rank and in/out.

After this lesson you can

Hear the greetings for leaving work, going out and coming back, and pick the paired reply at once (「お先さきに失礼しつれいします」→「お疲つかれ様さまでした」).
Tell 「〜させていただけますか」 (I do it, with your permission) from 「〜ていただけますか」 (you do it), and reply with permission or with a yes.
When you hear 「恐おそれ入いりますが」, 「お手数てすうですが」 or 「失礼しつれいですが」, know that a request or a question follows, and answer in the right keigo.
Avoid three traps: taking a set phrase literally, getting the direction of keigo backwards, and using respectful language for your own company’s people when talking to outsiders.
