How it is used

Gives the basis for a judgement: 'judging from A / in terms of A'. A is often a word like 「立場」「経験」「性格」 or 「点」, and the speaker's guess or evaluation follows.

Examples

  1. 彼女の人気からいって、 たくさんの人が来るだろう。

    If you think about her popularity, a lot of people will probably come.

  2. 彼の性格から言って、黙っているはずがない。

    Knowing his character, there's no way he'll stay quiet.

  3. 値段の点から言うと、こちらのほうがいい。

    In terms of price, this one is better.
