How to form it

How it is used

Gives the cause of a good result, with a feeling of gratitude. For a bad result use 「〜せいで」; 「おかげで」 with a bad result sounds sarcastic.

Examples

  1. 毎日運動するおかげですごく高く跳べます。

    Because I exercise every day, I can jump amazingly high.

  2. 先輩のおかげで、仕事に早く慣れました。

    Thanks to my senior colleague, I got used to the job quickly.

  3. 天気がよかったおかげで、山の上から海が見えた。

    Thanks to the good weather, we could see the sea from the top of the mountain.
