JLPT N3 grammar

〜させていただきたい: meaning and usage

I want you to let me A

How to form it

  • godan verb (nai-form without ない)せていただきたい
  • ichidan verb stem (without る)させていただきたい
  • する → させていただきたい/来る → 来させていただきたい

How it is used

A very polite 'I would like you to allow me to A', used at work and on formal occasions. Softer and more formal than 「〜させてください」; adding 「のですが」 or 「と思います」 softens it further.
