〜から〜まで: meaning and usage

• noun+から+noun+まで

How it is used

Marks a range in time or space, “from … to/until …”; each half can also be used alone. For a deadline (“by”), use 「までに」 instead: 「五時までに来てください」.

Examples

1. 今日のピアノコンクールは九時から三時まで行われます。

   Today's piano competition will be held from nine to three.

2. 家から駅まで歩いて10分です。

   It's a ten-minute walk from my house to the station.

3. 仕事は月曜日から金曜日までです。

   I work from Monday to Friday.
