Reasons and contrast: 「〜ので」 and 「〜のに」

電車でんしゃが止とまっているので、三十分さんじゅっぷんぐらい遅おくれます。

Give reasons politely with 「〜ので」 (vs 「〜から」); say “even though” with 「〜のに」, with frustration or surprise; add 「な」 after nouns, na-adjectives.
