• noun+向けの+noun
• noun+向けに+verb

How it is used

Made or meant for a particular audience or market, as in 「子ども向けの番組」 or 「海外向けの商品」. Unlike 「〜向き」 ('suited to'), it stresses who something was designed for.

Examples

1. この教科書は外国人学生向けの物である。

   This textbook is intended for foreign students.

2. この雑誌は、二十代の女性向けに作られている。

   This magazine is made for women in their twenties.

3. この町には、一人暮らしの学生向けの安いアパートが多い。

   This town has lots of cheap flats for students living on their own.
