• noun+にとって
• noun+にとっては/にとっても
• noun+にとっての+noun

How it is used

'For A, from A's point of view', followed by an evaluation such as 「大切だ」 or 「難しい」. It is not used for actions or attitudes directed at someone; that is 「に対して」.

Examples

1. 弟は犬が好きだけど、僕にとって犬は怖い存在だ。

   My little brother likes dogs, but to me, they are scary.

2. この写真は、私にとって一番の宝物です。

   This photo is my greatest treasure.

3. 子どもにとって、遊ぶことも大切な勉強だ。

   For children, playing is an important way of learning too.
