How it is used

'Every time A, B': whenever A happens, B follows without fail. Often used for repeated habits or feelings. Compared with 「〜とき」, it stresses 'each and every time'.

Examples

  1. この写真を見る度に私の父を思い出す。

    Every time I see this picture, I remember my father.

  2. 旅行のたびに、家族にお土産を買う。

    Every time I travel, I buy souvenirs for my family.

  3. 会うたびに、弟は背が高くなっている。

    Every time I see him, my little brother has grown taller.
