• noun+は+noun+に+ございます

How it is used

A very polite 「あります」, typical of staff speaking to customers and of formal occasions. Today only 「ございます」 is used; 「ござる」 survives in period dramas. 「でございます」, the polite 「です」, is a separate pattern.

Examples

1. お荷物はいくつございますか。

   How many pieces of baggage do you have?

2. トイレは二階にございます。

   The restrooms are on the second floor.

3. 何かご質問はございますか。

   Do you have any questions?
