How it is used

Several uses: 1) means, 'by A'; 2) cause, 'due to A'; 3) 「〜によって違う」, 'varies depending on A'; 4) the creator in a passive, 'by A'. 「により」 is more formal; 「によっては」 means 'in some A'.
