How to form it

How it is used

Read 「じゅう」, it means “throughout, all over” (「一日中」, 「世界中」). Read 「ちゅう」, it means “during, within” (「午前中」) or “in the middle of” (「授業中」). The reading mostly depends on the word, so learn them one by one.

Examples

  1. 6月中、日本では雨ばかり降っています。

    During June, it rains almost every day in Japan.

  2. 昨日は一日中、家で本を読んでいました。

    Yesterday I spent the whole day at home reading.

  3. 部長は今、会議中です。

    The department manager is in a meeting right now.
