How it is used

Means 'to concern' or 'to affect', usually something important such as 「命」 or 「将来」: 「命に関わる問題」 ('a life-or-death matter'). It can also mean being involved in something: 「仕事に関わる」.

Examples

  1. その顧問の苦情は微妙な問題に関わる物だった。

    The adviser's complaint concerned a delicate issue.

  2. これは会社の将来に関わる大事な問題だ。

    This is a serious matter that affects the company's future.

  3. 将来は、子どもの教育に関わる仕事がしたい。
